Pond Maintenance
Stormwater ponds serve various critical functions in our towns and cities around New Zealand. They are essential to the biodiversity of our flora and fauna; reduce the risk of downstream flooding; support sediment and erosion control, improve water quality and keep our beaches and harbours free of pollutants.
Glasgow Contractors have a proud track record of successful pond restoration projects. These include everything from pond desilting and sediment removal to forebay, spillway and outfall construction as well as stormwater inlets and outlets. Onepoto Domain, Rosedale West Pond, Pukekura Park, Sherwood Reserve and Martyn Wilson Reserve are only a handful of our success stories.
Our unique dredging methodology, which combines our specialist equipment, technology and expert skills, allows us to work in sensitive natural areas with minimal environmental impact all year round. We are very effective at servicing hard-to-reach waterways with our amphibious toolcarrier to dredge, pump, remove weeds, algae and other unwanted vegetation.
Our unique desilting and sediment removal methods significantly reduce the amount of wet silt and sediment that needs to be transported and disposed of at landfill sites, and in some cases can even be repurposed on site.
We also work closely with ecologists and arborists to ensure all appropriate environmental standards are considered and followed before commencing work.
In addition to stormwater ponds and waterways, we also have a wealth of experience in professional dredging and desludging of oxidation wastewater treatment ponds around New Zealand.
