Stream Works & Outfalls
At Glasgow Contractors, we are passionate about the health, biodiversity and efficacy of New Zealand’s awa and riverine ecosystems, and specialise in the remediation and construction of streams and outfalls.
We have extensive experience transforming New Zealand’s stormwater assets into sustainable solutions, building new streams and creeks to replace outdated legacy networks that offer improved water quality, sediment control and protection against erosion and pollution.
Our unique techniques and environmental controls enable us to safely and effectively operate in live watercourses. Some of these protection measures include soft engineering techniques such as cross-vein weirs; root wads; revetment walls and stream widening, others include more permanent structures such as timber retaining walls; wing walls; rock toe armouring; and gabion walls.
Restoring stream meanders, reconnecting floodplains, reinstating fish passages, and reconstructing channel morphology to improve flow dynamics and enhance habitat diversity are all specialist skills that our team of experts excel at.
