Social & Environmental Commitments
Environment
As custodians of the land and water, we are guided by a deep respect for our natural environment and believe that every project is an opportunity to make a positive impact that will benefit future generations of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Glasgow Contractors have a strong focus on sustainable and social outcomes for every project we undertake, enhancing Te Mana o te Wai every time we interact with the water.
We continually challenge our waste management practices in pursuit of new initiatives to reduce, recycle and reuse waste. We capture and track our carbon emissions from vehicles, equipment and machinery in an effort to both reduce and more accurately offset our carbon footprint.
To date we’ve planted and donated over 10,000 New Zealand native plants, working in close partnership with Restore Hibiscus & Bays and Kaipātiki Project.
Social
Glasgow Contractors is an equal opportunities employer, and we celebrate being a diverse company with people from all walks of life. We are proud to have strong female, Māori and Pasifika representation, some of whom play a key leadership role in guiding and encouraging the rangatahi in our company to take pride in their work and continue learning.
The health, safety and well-being of our colleagues are paramount and form the foundation of everything we do and stand for. We believe everyone has the right to a safe work environment and to return home safe every day, which is why we are committed to prioritising the health and safety of our employees, sub-contractors and visitors above all else, by following and enforcing the strictest health and safety protocols.
We are proud supporters of organisations that support our communities including Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust, Special Children’s Christmas, Kaipātiki Project and local school initiatives and sports teams.
